SIDE LIGHTS

 

Mounted and wired the port and starboard running lights, Actally had a bit of trouble and ended up pulling them both apart and restoring them.The little spring plungers where a bit stiff, loosend them up with INOX. Still using original vertical incandescent  (expensive) bulbs but will change to LED's when they need replacing....

RIGGING

Got some secondhand rigging from a mate. Wormed parcelled and served 10mm galv, enough for the 4 shrouds for the mizzen, and a long length of ss 12mm 1by19. so now have 7 of the 9 needed. On the lookout for 11 or 12 m of 12mm ss

MAIN ELECTRICAL PANEL

Keep your eyes on this panel as I work thru building all the curcuits. Could get quite busy!

 

Header Tank

The original 60 liter water tank has been re-mounted on the wheelhouse top as a header tank to give pressure below. It also alows us to monitor consumption...
 

MIZZEN CHAINPLATES

All 4 now bolted on for the mizzen. This the forward starboard one and was one of the reasons we put a post here. The other is to provide a corner for any shower screen that may be necessary. The door behind which is to the loo opens forward to line up with the post to form a sceen there. Whether we put a rolldown? sceen down from the roof to the gunwhale-we will see!

LED'S

Busy soldering up 20 led's and their resistors as indicator lites for one panel. This is the one that has all the operational and navigational switches for Mason Bay. The house panel, which does lighting and non operational stuff, I managed to get cheap at the local auction about a year ago, and it has them built in. I am using the original circuit breakers and felt indicator lights would let me know whats on.....

ELECTRICS-MORE ELECTRICS

Cableing is a slow business. Trying to get the engine started and running from the wheelhouse. But it does take time. Getting the right sized cables, then the correct sized lugs crimped on, then running and supporting the cables.......
