LADY RUIA
A 13;6" mullet Boat double diagonal kauri. Owned by Doudney and others In the 60,s
About 15 years ago (okay, probably 20) Lady Rua was anchored in the bay at the end of Garnett Road near Motions Creek; I found out the owners name determined to buy the little mulletty of many memories - but the owner wouldn't consider it, was affronted even. Years later, anchored at Putiki Bay I ran into Russ Monroe ... and he told me he had lady Rua (but dried out with many gaps) by his back shed. He was intent on restoration - but don't know what has happened since then.
