Mason Bay 20
While ribbing work progresses in the engineroom, I replaced the badly fitted floor up forward with a completely new one, kept the original copper keelbolt and rethreaded. New butt block fitted on starboard (the planking there was butted on the floor!) Used long bronze screws and a couple of bronze dumps. Also started removing deck beams forward to refurbish-much easier in the bench! One neede 2 new ends scarffed one as the steel bolts had scunged up the ends. The white filler on the top of the beams is vynalester filler in the old steel nail holes-I got about 50% out the rest broke off and are now punched down-sorry but have to be pragmatic sometimes---forgive me!.......Also featured is A small wiorkboat 105 years old former Auckland harbour board workboat-A friend has bought it.....
