REBATE

Cutting the 40mm rebate into the covering board, which is surprisingly good nick (maybe replaced when new bullwarks where installed in 1985 by Miller and Tonnage?)Anyway the plan is to overlap the seam between the lower layer and the top layer in the deck. Here is the aft part which will have recovered kauri from the original top layer. This will be inside the wheelhouse, deck saloon and verandah at the rear. This already has a layer of 18mm ply. Forward of the wheelhouse over the T&G we will lay the 12mm ply. Both the kauri and 12mm ply will set in glue in the rebate. The decks should be 100% waterproof!- weve heard this before? Joints in adjoining sheets of plt are half rebated.
