ANCHORING

We have some heavey anchor gear. I love having undisturbed nights sleep!
So we have a 40kg ROCHNA and 110m of 1/2in short link chain.
Another decision was to have the 'spare man' (remember him?) mounted strongly on deck and not on top of the bulwarks. This means that we cannot pull the anchor in thru the bullwarks - no matter, will use an anchor davit, which also means that on passage we can get the anchor inboard and on deck. This is the anchor davit and retreval hook. The other end of the boat hook has a shoulder on it that fits exactly into the ss tube. This will enable me to guide the hook into the shackle as it hangs from the spare man- got that?!
