ALICE ALAKWE...........again

We are away cruising, so posts not so frequent!

BUT we found our boat Alice Alakwe on which we circumnavigated.
We think it is about time someone took her in hand.
We have the contact for the present owner and would gladly put any enthusiastic future owner in touch.
She will need some work, it looks like she may have been broken into and some bronze fittings are missing.
If you want my estimate of value and work I suggest email me first.

  1. Hi Gary
I sailed with you from Honiara to cairns in 1982 !
I googled Alice Alakwe and found your page.
I hope you are well and flourishing. It would be nice to catch up for a few yarns one day,
    best wishes

Well here it is again Alice was built by very talented soloman islanders, the design is the herroshoff leeboard ketch in Hull alone, the upper work although odd with the thawtship cabin which one has to clamber over to go forward gives a lot of deck space, the forward deck could contain a lot of blue water as it is quite enclosed, hasn't been a problem in normal fair weather sailing
But why anyone would defer from the original design could only be arogance
